{"id":1842,"date":"2014-12-22T00:50:39","date_gmt":"2014-12-21T23:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/?p=1842"},"modified":"2019-08-29T11:51:01","modified_gmt":"2019-08-29T09:51:01","slug":"arseny-avraamov-symphony-of-sirens-1922","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/?p=1842","title":{"rendered":"SYMPHONY OF SIRENS, Arseny Avraamov (1922)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"360\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/Baku.jpg\" width=\"374\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Au d&eacute;but des ann&eacute;es 1920, en Russie, Arseny Avraamov est probablement le compositeur russe qui repr&eacute;sente de la mani&egrave;re la plus embl&eacute;matique, une trajectoire musicale, encore aujourd&#39;hui largement m&eacute;connue, qui se calque sur le versant le plus exp&eacute;rimental de la musique bruitiste dans le sillage du futurisme russe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"168\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/81px-Avraamov_symph250_2(2).jpg\" width=\"114\" \/><\/p>\n<p>En 1922, pour c&eacute;l&eacute;brer l&#39;anniversaire de la R&eacute;volution, il imagine une grande symphonie de ville qui serait jou&eacute;e &agrave; Baku non pas par des instruments traditionnels mais par des sons qui &eacute;maneraient de la ville toute enti&egrave;re : tirs d&#39;artillerie et de canons, sir&egrave;nes d&#39;usines, sifflets &agrave; vapeur, cornes de cuirass&eacute;s, deviendraient sous sa baguette, ou plut&ocirc;t sous ses drapeaux, puisqu&#39;il dirigeait lui-m&ecirc;me &agrave; l&#39;aide de drapeaux depuis le sommet d&#39;une plateforme ou depuis le toit des immeubles, l&#39;une des symphonies de ville les plus marquantes de l&#39;histoire de la musique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"304\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/640px-Arseny_Avraamov_Moscow_1923.jpg\" width=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pour cette symphonie &agrave; l&#39;&eacute;chelle de la ville toute enti&egrave;re, il con&ccedil;oit un syst&egrave;me complet de sifflets &agrave; vapeur, comprenant toute l&#39;&eacute;chelle chromatique lui permettant sur plus d&#39;une octave et demie, d&#39;int&eacute;grer &agrave; sa symphonie de ville des m&eacute;lodies jou&eacute;es par ces machines &agrave; vapeur comme <em>L&#39;Internationale<\/em> ou <em>La Marseillaise<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"263\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/250px-Avraamov_Arseny_Symphony_of_Sirens_2.jpg\" width=\"446\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Avraamov tentera par la suite de simplifier ce syst&egrave;me avec un dispositif de r&eacute;partition de la vapeur &agrave; travers diff&eacute;rents sifflets notamment pour la reprise de la <em>Symphonie des sir&egrave;nes<\/em> &agrave; Nivni Novgorod puis &agrave; Moscou en 1923.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"395\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/Symphony_of_Sirens_Moscow_1923.jpg\" width=\"589\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"392\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/Symphony_of_Sirens_Moscow_1923_2.jpg\" width=\"590\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Edgard Var&egrave;se avait certes d&eacute;j&agrave; introduit la sir&egrave;ne au milieu de son orchestre notamment dans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Nq8SKwi-ycE\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Am&eacute;riques<\/em><\/a> (1918-1921), puis dans<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rMvyCEyQb9g\" target=\"_blank\"><em> Hyperprism<\/em><\/a> (1923) et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TStutMsLX2s\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Ionisation<\/em><\/a> (1933), elle se retrouve &eacute;galement dans le film <a href=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/?p=435\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Ballet M&eacute;canique<\/em><\/a> (1924) de Fernand L&eacute;ger et Dudley Murphy sous la conduite musicale de George Antheil, mais avec cet exemple, dans un geste encore plus radical, Avraamov int&egrave;gre ce jeux de sir&egrave;ne et de sifflets &agrave; son orchestre inou&iuml; o&ugrave; il &eacute;tend tous les pupitres &agrave; la ville toute enti&egrave;re.<\/p>\n<p>Il compose une partition dans laquelle il int&egrave;gre tous ces instruments sonores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"329\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/1024px-Avraamov_Arseny_Symphony_of_Sirens_score_page_1.jpg\" width=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pour les manifestations sonores plus diffuses et lointaines Avraamov consigne le d&eacute;clenchement d&#39;&eacute;v&eacute;nements sonores selon un d&eacute;roulement temporel tr&egrave;s pr&eacute;cis auquel doit ob&eacute;ir chaque responsable de l&#39;&eacute;v&eacute;nement sonore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" height=\"643\" src=\"http:\/\/philippelanglois.net\/lcd\/wp-content\/uploads\/640px-Avraamov_Arseny_Symphony_of_Sirens_text-scores.jpg\" width=\"572\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Voici une reconstitution sonore de Leopoldo Amigo et&nbsp; Miguel Molina paru en 2008 dans l&#39;indispensable coffret <a href=\"http:\/\/monoskop.org\/Symphony_of_Sirens\" target=\"_blank\">Baku <em>Symphony of Sirens<\/em><\/a>, qui regroupe reconstitution sonore et archives d&#39;&eacute;poque de l&#39;avant garde russe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Kq_7w9RHvpQ\" width=\"420\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first cannon shot from the roadstead (in about 12 o&rsquo;clock) cues the alarm horns of Zych, White City, Bibi-Heybat and Bailov plants.<br \/>\n\tThe fifth cannon shot cues the industrial horns of Product Management Azneft and docks.<br \/>\n\tThe tenth cues the second and the third groups of Chernogorodsky district.<br \/>\n\tThe 15th cues the first group of Black town and the sirens of the fleet. At the same time the fourth company of the Armavir courses of red commanders and the brass orchestra playing Warshavyanka go to the pier. <br \/>\n\tThe 18th&nbsp; cannon shot cues the plants of Gorrayon and the seaplanes take off. <br \/>\n\tThe 20th cues the horns of the railway depot and the locomotives, that remain at the stations. Machine guns, infantry and steam orchestra, entering at the same time, get cues directly from the conducting tower.&nbsp; <br \/>\n\tDuring the last 5 cannon shots alarm gets to the maximum and terminates with the 25th shot.&nbsp; Pause.&nbsp; Recall (signal from the Magistral).<br \/>\n\tTriple chord of the sirens. Seaplanes descend. &ldquo;Hurrah&rdquo; from the pier. Cue from the Magistral. &ldquo;L&#39; Internationale&rdquo; (4 times). With the second half strophe the brass orchestra starts playing &ldquo;La Marseillaise&rdquo;. With the first repeat of &ldquo;L&#39; Internationale&rdquo; melody the whole square starts to sing all three strophes of &ldquo;L&#39; Internationale&rdquo; to the end. At the end of the last strophe the Armavir companies with orchestras return, met by &ldquo;hurrah&rdquo; calls from the square. During the performance of &ldquo;L&#39;Internationale&rdquo; all the industrial horns and the railway station (depot and locomotives) remain silent.<br \/>\n\tRight after a joint triumphant chord, accompanied by cannon shots and bell-ringing, is played for 3 minutes. <br \/>\n\tCeremonial March. &laquo;L&#39; Internationale&rdquo; is repeated two more times at cues during the final procession.
